Barclay James Havest(이하 BJH)는 포크락을 기본으로 하면서, 프로그레시브와 클래식 락의 색체가 두루두루 섞인 록 그룹으로, 초기 오케스트라 연주를 가미하면서 그들의 존재를 알릴 수 있었으나, 상업적 실패와 그에따른 오케스트라 밴드를 유지하는 비용문제로 인해 어려움을 겪습니다. 

이에 오케스트라 연주를 뺀 자신들만의 스타일을 장착하려 노력했지만 확실한 자기 색깔을 찾지 못하고 영국그룹 Moody Blues와 비교되면서 아류그룹이라는 평론가들의 냉대를 받아야만 했는데 그 평가가 어떻게나 혹독했는지 1997년 Moody Blues의 불후의 명곡 Nights in White Satin을 모태로 전혀 다른 곡 Poor Man's Moody Blues 를 발표하기에 이른다.

이곡은 Moody Blues의 아류로 평가되는 자신들의 자괴감과 그들을 닮고 싶은 영원한 동경을 짝사랑으로 표현하였습니다. 제목 부터가 가난한자들의 Moody Blues 즉, 아류로 평가되는 밴드 BJH가 부르는 Moody Blues 곡이라는 뜻인 것 같습니다. 이 제목의 영향인지 모르겠지만 이 음반은 크게 성공을 거뒀고 이 곡은 그들의 대표곡이 됩니다.
